2010 LIBRARY AND COMMUNITY CENTER ROOFIMPROVEMENT PROJECT, M-557CITY OF OAK PARKOAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN

Sealed proposals for the Roof Improvement Project will be received by the Oak Park City Clerk at the City Hall, 13600 Oak Park Blvd., Oak Park, MI. 48237, until 2:00 P.M., local time, Monday, August 30, 2010, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The project consists of the maintenance and replacement of roof sections on the City's Library and Community Center, a total improvement of approximately 37,342 Square Feet as described in the Contract Specifications.

A Mandatory Pre Bid Meeting and Walk-Through will be conducted on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 10:00 am EST. Potential bidders are requested to check in at the Office of the City Clerk at 13600 Oak Park Blvd. Any questions regarding the project should be asked at that time.

The Bidding Documents will be on file on and after 1:00PM on Monday, August 16, 2010, at the Office of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, located at 13700 Oak Park Blvd., Oak Park, Michigan 48237, during regular business hours, Monday through Thursday.

Copies for bidding purposes may be obtained for a non-refundable charge of Thirty Dollars($30.00) per set. If requested, prospective bidders will be mailed copies of the Contract Documents for a non-refundable charge of Thirty Five Dollars ($35.00) per set. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, money order or bid bond by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Michigan in the amount of at least five (5%) percent of the amount bid, drawn payable to the City of Oak Park, Michigan, as security for the proper execution of the Contract.

The successful bidder will be required to provide performance bonds and payment bonds each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount.

The bid guarantee of Bidders under consideration will be returned immediately after execution of the contract documents by the Owner; checks and money orders of Bidders not under consideration will normally be returned within forty-eight (48) hours after bid opening. The amount of the guarantee shall be forfeited to the Owner if the successful Bidder fails to enter into a contract and furnish the required bonds and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after award of the contract.

The City of Oak Park, Michigan reserves the right to reject any and all bids in it's sole discretion in whole or in part for any reason or for no reason at all. Any informalities or irregularities in bids may be waived by the City of Oak Park for any reason, or for no reason at all, in the sole discretion of the City. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the actual date of opening thereof.
